During the last years, significant progress have been made in preventing demyelinating events that occur during multiple sclerosis, but much less in the field of regeneration of the lost myelin. Our team has previously demonstrated that the Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) protein is a positive regulator of oligodendrocyte progenitors enhancing myelin repair in a demyelination model relying on the focal injection of lysolecithin into the corpus callosum.
