This work aims to control the processes represented by partial differential equations. Two processes were considered. The first process is a batch crystallization process. The aim of the control is to generate a crystal size distribution (CSD) with an appropriate mean size. First, we used a high gain cascade observer to estimate this average size using only the crystallizer temperature and solute concentration. Then, different scenarios were tested to compare the performance of the different structures of the control system without a model. The second process treated is a lactide polymerization process.
