Add to ORKGİslâm ahlâk düşüncesinde erdemler önemli bir yere sahiptir. Erdemlerin asıl sistematik bir yapı içerisinde ahlâki erdemleri ele alan bir içerikle işlenmesi filozoflarla birlikte ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu sınıflandırma geleneği Platon'a kadar uzanan uzun bir tarihi geçmişe sahiptir. Platon'dan beri ahlâkta dört esas erdem kabul edilmiştir. Yine Galen'in nefsin üç gücüne karşılık gelecek şekilde erdemleri tasnifi İslâm düşünce geleneğinde erdem anlayışının temelini oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmamızda Şehrezûrî'nin gelenekle bağı ve bu geleneğe katkıları ortaya konulmaktadır. Şehrezûrî kendinden önceki filozoflarda olduğu gibi erdemleri nefsin kuvvelerine dayandırmaktadır.
