This paper aims to evaluate the new principles of granting agricultural pensions as a result of the reform of the pension system in Poland. Issues such as equalising the retirement age for men and women, raising it at the same time for both sexes, or pension privileges of farmers and the possibility of introducing a uniform pension system for all have been discussed. It is concluded that neither raising nor equalising retirement age will answer the need for providing agricultural producers past their active working life adequate security.
