Se describe un nuevo taxón del género Phymaturus, de latitud austral relativamente elevada, y de morfología y coloración peculiares. Se comentan en forma preliminar las afinidades y diferencias de esta especie con las especies conocidas y asignadas a los dos grupos del mencionado género.A new morphologically peculiar taxon belonging to the genus Phymaturus from a relatively high austral latitude, is described.
