[Extract] Adaptive capacity can be a major influence on what social and economic impacts actually eventuate. This chapter aims to inspire NRM planners within the Wet Tropics Cluster to consider strategies to enhance adaptive capacity across scales: within individual landholders such as cattle graziers and farmers, within agricultural industries and within the NRM organisations themselves. The chapter introduces and defines the concept of adaptive capacity, describes what successful adaptation might look like, refers to case studies within the region, and offers suggestions to enhance adaptive capacity
