Desagüe, ambiente y urbanización de la Ciudad de México en el siglo XIX.

This article analyzes environmental transformations in the Valley of Mexico and Mexico City in light of their relation to the practices and discourses through which various social actors legitimized their appropriation of the natural environment to promote its urbanization and commercialization in the 19th century; actions that generated an urban regimen marked by growing social and environmental imbalances that were handed down to the following century.Este artículo propone un análisis de las transformaciones ambientales del Valle y Ciudad de México relacionadas con el desagüe y con las prácticas y discursos mediante los cuales diversos actores sociales legitimaron su apropiación del medio natural y promovieron su comercialización y urbanización durante el siglo XIX, produciendo un regímen urbano en creciente desequilibrio social y ambiental que se heredaría al siglo venidero
