[Extract] Conceptual models that serve as guides for nursing practice, education and research have become important tools for community nurses. Since the 1060s, conceptual models of nursing have been systematically identified, studied and explicitly applied to practice. Boundaries are needed to define areas of concern for nursing, and a conceptual 'map' of nursing practice provides a guide for action. This notion is particularly true when the nursing practice focuses on the entire community. Part II consists of a series of chapters (Chapter 9 to 14) that apply conceptual models of community nursing practices to programs of health promotion
