The thesis utilizes the existence of secondary data and available literature to exam the presence of the so-called middle-income trap through the two most popular approach: absolute- and relative-income as well as the tentative lists of countries that belong to the trap. Then, the use of secondary data sources provides more information on the situations of China and Latin America as well as lessons learned from these two outstanding economies in the fight against the middle-income trap
