Background: There has been little research on strategies for prevention of peritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis. We explored whether regular retraining on bag exchanges (via two methods: technique inspection and oral education) every other month could help reduce the risk of peritonitis in PD patients through a randomized controlled trial (RCT). Method: This is an RCT conducted at Peking University First Hospital. A total of 150 incident patients receiving PD at our centre were included between December 2010 and June 2016 and followed up until June 2018.
