Australia's Great Barrier Reef (GBR) is the world's most spectacular coral reef ecosystem and is a major international and domestic tourist destination. It is\ud recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and is frequently cited as one of the eight wonders of the natural world. However, despite the level of protection afforded by its World Heritage status and high level of management\ud through its status as a marine park, it is not immune to the impacts of climate change.
