UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN EKONOMIS PETANI DALAM PEREMAJAANKEBUN KARET (HEVEA BRASILLIENSIS) DI SUMATERA SELATAN

The research aims to find out economic ability analysis of farmer to handle replanting infestation cost of rubber estate for traditional farmer and modern farmer. Primary data are from sample traditional farmers and modern farmers on September until November 2014. The sample size is 360 respondent household farmers in three districts are Musi Rawas, Muara Enim and Musi Banyuasin in South Sumatra. The data analysed by economic analysis, economics age and rubber estate replanting model.The result showed that average degree economic ability modern farmers to handle replanting infestation cost of rubber estate (123 %) more than tradisional farmers. Economic age of rubber plant modern farmers (27 year) more than economic age of rubber plant tradisional farmers (24 year). Economic ability can be increasing to adoption of rubber plant pola, used of leisure time for productif activity and increasing rubber prices.Keyword : economic ability, rubber replanting, economic ag
