A few years ago Philip E. Jacob conducted a study in an attempt to discover if the colleges of America are changing the value patterns and commitments of students. His conclusion was that, in the main, this is not happening to any extent which is measurable. He did say, however, that there are a few small colleges which seem to be exceptions to this general rule and, although he did not understand the implications of it, he felt obligated to call attention to this possible exception. It is my conviction that the exception is the truly effective Christian college.
