This paper examines the interface between diversity and industrial relations and how this impinges on the development of the country, Nigeria. Underlying the magnitude of the problems and the challenges in managing diversity in work environment, the paper highlights some of the sources of diversity and industrial relations and human resol}f'ce implications of diversity. The paper explores the risk of managing diversity and how to minimize . the attendant effects of diversity in a multi-ethnic work environment. The paper concludes that diversity is legitimate and that if well harnessed, it can be used in channeling energies towards positive distribution of national development and service delivery
