Tadashi Suzuki is a leading experimental Japanese theater director about and by whom much has already been written. Numerous renowned theater companies and artists have participated in his summer internation festival, which takes place in a small village of Toga where he has established an extensive base comprising a large outdoor amphitheater and two smaller studios, as well as accommodation and leisure facilities. Even for those who have never been to Toga or seen the Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT) perform, his work still has significance because of the international impact the Suzuki Method has had on the filed of performer training since the late 1970s
