The effect of temperature gradient on the drift instabilities in an inhomogeneous high‐β plasma is discussed. The analysis shows that in the presence of a temperature‐gradient, ion‐acoustic, and Alfvénic instabilities can be developed.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/71017/2/PFLDAS-14-9-2061-1.pd
