Flavonoids are natural substances known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-cancerous and anti-virals properties in humans. In plants, they are one of the molecules responsible for fighting pathogens. The flavonoid biosynthesis pathway as been greatly studied in plants, especially in that of the grapevine: Vitis vinifera.
