We study the influence of the presence of a random magnetic field and of long-ranged interactions on the critical behavior of the Ising model. Our approach is based on a nonperturbative and functional version of the renormalization group. The bases of the nonperturbative renormalization group are introduced first and then illustrated in the simple case of the classical scalar field theory. We next discuss the critical properties of the latter in the presence of a random magnetic field, which is associated with frozen disorder in the system. The distribution of the random field in space is taken as that of a gaussian white noise.
