Chapter 23International audienceIn this chapter, we study several modelling tools mainly used to evaluate the performance of next generation wireless networks. We focus on wireless multi-hop networks based on Single-Input Signle-Output (SISO) and Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) technologies. We investigate three aspects of modelling tools: 1) stochastic modelling based on Markov-chain, 2) Conflict Graph particularly graph coloring, and cliques, 3) Assymptotic approaches for large scale networks. For each tool, we illustrate how each tool is used in the performance evaluation in terms of throughput, delay, and network capacity
