A process for preparing a composite material comprising a bioresorbable polymer matrix and modified particles of biocompatible glass is described. The process comprises mixing modified particles of biocompatible glass with the constituent polymer(s) of the bioresorbable polymer matrix so as to obtain a homogeneous mixture. The mixture is then heated under an inert atmosphere, cast and cooled to give the composite material
