For the optimization of an aircraft for given specifications prediction of aerodynamic characteristics of an aircraft forms a very important element. Programme Aeroch is a computer simulation model which a generates the drag polar of an aircraft given the geometry. It makes use of the various empirical formulae available in the literature. It has been applied to real aircraft models and the results of this programme are compared with wind tunnel values. A critical assessment of the programme as a tool for the prediction of aerodynamic characteristics of the wind tunnel models is made
