Pedicularis candensis is the most ubiquitous species of the genus in North America. Pedicularis is semi-parasitic like many members of the Scrophulariaceae. It is clonal, and grows in sandy or loam soils from Maine south to Chihuahua, Mexico. ... The purpose of this study was to describe the clonal structure of Pedicularis and to compare clones taken from a forested and open site at the University of Michigan Biological Station.http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/54245/1/2681.pdfDescription of 2681.pdf : Access restricted to on-site users at the U-M Biological Station
