Studies of primary productivity and standing crop on Lake Kathleen, summer, 1973.

Primary productivity in Lake Kathleen--a reservoir on the Maple River in Emmet County, Michigan--was measured during the summer of 1973 on two dates. The oxygen evolution and C14 radiotracer techniques were used in these measurements. Also evaluated was standing crop of the reservoir--expressed as amounts of chlorophyll a and phaeophytin a which were present. Results are analyzed in light of other data collected for the lake at this time and in comparison to information published on other lakes. Conclusions: Lake Kathleen is a fairly clean lake with water which is probably of good quality.
