Primary productivity in Lake Kathleen--a reservoir on the Maple River in Emmet County, Michigan--was measured during the summer of 1973 on two dates. The oxygen evolution and C14 radiotracer techniques were used in these measurements. Also evaluated was standing crop of the reservoir--expressed as amounts of chlorophyll a and phaeophytin a which were present. Results are analyzed in light of other data collected for the lake at this time and in comparison to information published on other lakes. Conclusions: Lake Kathleen is a fairly clean lake with water which is probably of good quality. However, as the data in the coves, especially the western one, indiate, it is quite sensitive to nutrient input and warming.http://deepblue.lib....
