Examination of the design of the Ljubljana Climbing centre extension in terms of insolation and illumination

The thesis examines the conceptual design of the Ljubljana Climbing Centre extension in\ud terms of insolation and illumination. In the first part of the thesis, I modelled the facility in\ud Autodesk Ecotect Analysis 2011 and calculated its illumination as well as the insolation of\ud selected surfaces. I also calculated the energy of solar radiation received by the facility. My\ud comments on the results were based on the standards and provisions of the regulations. In\ud the second part, I examined the psychophysiological effects of light on people. Certain\ud findings were proven interesting for the purpose of the facility, such as the fact that good\ud illumination has a beneficial effect on the execution of long-lasting visual tasks (climbing) and\ud on the psychophysiological efficiency of the body. In the last part of the thesis, I designed a\ud construction proposal based on my findings and results that would resolve the problems of\ud excessive illumination and insolation. By reducing the transmissivity and the surface of the\ud glazing, I slightly modified the original model and re-analysed the insolation and illumination\ud in the facility. Based on the analysis, I commented on the suggested measures and\ud explained them in terms of psychophysical well-being of users
