International audienceNear isotropic phase is a highly symmetric nematic phase (order parameter: Q is very close to zero) usually exists over a small temperature range near to the N-I phase transition temperature of any liquid crystal material, be- cause of that it is often called as superheated nematic phase. Realization of this phase normally required high temperature, except for the typical material whose N-I phase transition temperature is near to the room temper- ature.
