The water compartments are contaminated by anthropic micropollutants, as pharmaceuticals. These pollutions are mainly due to the constant spillage of effluents in natural waters. That’s why the first objective of this study was to evaluate the removal capacity of three treatment chains, activated sludge, lagoon-based system and planted filter. The effluent analyses exhibited that the removal of pharmaceuticals in these sewage plants is insufficient. It is thus necessary to think about low cost and innovative purification solution especially framed by the water framework directive.
