Investigating the Relationship between Organizational Learning and Job Engagement in Nurses

Background and Objective: One of the most important motivating factors of nurses is improvement of their job engagement. This is not possible unless through various research and analysis of factors influencing job engagement, hence, this study intends to investigate the relationship between organizational learning with job engagement of nurses in Ardabil Medical Sciences University. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was performed during autumn and winter of 2012 among 914 nurses working in hospitals affiliated to Ardabil Medical Sciences University; of them 273 nurses were sampled regarding the Krejcie and Morgan table. Two questionnaires were used to gather data: Chiva et al. questionnaire of organizational learning and Salanova and Schaufeli job engagement questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (data frequency tables, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (stepwise multiple regression method and Pearson correlation) with SPSS-21. Findings: The results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between organizational learning and work engagement, and that organizational learning can predict job engagement. Conclusion: Improving of organizational learning components can improve and increase work engagement of nurses
