The concept of Cognitive Acceleration in Science Education (CASE) has been established since the mid 1980s, and this work extends the ideas into Technology Education (CATE). The authors have undertaken a series of studies and the work is summarised and presented in this volume. The 95-page book and accompanying research �task outlines' were the distilled trialled and tested materials used to engage with Design and Technology schemes of work within the secondary school curriculum throughout the research period (1992 -�� 2002).
