Saturated steam is a widespread medium for heat transfer for instance in industrial and hotel applications. Therefore, it is interesting to investigate the supply of such consumers with solar energy. In the P3 project (Pilotanlage zur solaren Prozesswärmeerzeugung mit Parabolrinnenkollektoren) a field of parabolic trough collectors has been erected to demonstrate how steam directly produced in the solar field can be integrated in an industrial steam network. The collector field consists of 100 m² of PTC1800 of the company Solitem, erected on a production hall of the company Alanod.
