This report presents an assessment of a novel Optical Pressure Measurement System (OPMS) which was jointly developed by the Russian Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) and Moscow University;INTECO in Frosinone, Italy, and Omega in Immenstaad, Germany. At the suggestion of MBB, Ottobrunn, Germany, DLR made available in January 1991 its high speed wind tunnel (HKG) in Göttingen to carry out a presentation and practical demonstration of this new technique. MBB made availabel its model of a cropped delta wing to demonstrate and assess OPMS. For this purpose pressure distributions were measured separately as well as simultaneously with both OPMS and a conventional technique via pressure taps for comparisons.
