The paper describes simulation module DSSIM of the ANDECS environment. DSSIM solves initial value problems of ordinary differential equations and differential algebraic equations. Models form several existing modelling environments, like ACSL (simulation language) or SIMPACK ( multibody program), can be made available for DSSIM using preprocessor programs
