Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS) has been applied to map temperatures at two cross-sections, 50mm and 80mm, downstream of the injection plane in a cryogenic rocket engine combustor. Supercritical pressure conditions (6 MPa) habe been investigated with liquid oxygen (LOX) and hydrogen (H2) propellants. Bi-modal temperature distributions have been observed at the 80mm downstream position indicating strong flame and flow oscillations
