The International Council for Science (ICSU) recently approved the establishment of a World Data Center (WDC) for Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere (RSAT), hosted by the Cluster for Applied Remote Sensing at the German Aerospace Center. One of the most important user groups being targeted by this WDC is the scientific community developing, running, and/or validating earth system models. These activities require data representing variables and parameters of the systems under investigation, and the WDC-RSAT offers such data from an increasingly easy to use web portal. The available data related to the atmsopehre is always being updated as sensors, missions, and assimilation techniques are added or improved. The talk will cover the data and ...
