The rising burden of chronic diseases is a major problem for the global population. Many of these diseases are driven and influenced by factors such as chronic inflammation and chronic stress. These factors are influenced by lifestyle behaviors such as physical inactivity and western eating habits. The paper has explored how different factors contribute to the rising burden of chronic disease. I will discuss how it is largely influenced by lifestyle mismatches between modern lifestyle and ancestral adaptions to when humans were hunter-gatherers. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how increasing physical activity and modifying eating habits can prevent the increasing rise in chronic disease and influence optimal body and brain function
