The main research question for this study is: How can global networks influence emerging economies in building expertise for stimulating domestic entrepreneurship? The question is two folded. Firstly, it is looking into the ability of the global community to influence a country, and secondly it looks at the ability that the country itself has to stimulate business development and entrepreneurship. Some relevant perspectives such as institution based-view, knowledge creation and organizational learning are presented in this thesis. The thesis takes a closer look at how the knowledge transfer occurs from consultant agents to the institutions.
