Media organisations all over the world experience new challenges related to technological developments and convergence. Digitalisation of production has facilitated changes in how journalism is organised and practiced. One significant development is the growth in the number of convergent ‘media houses’ at all levels of news journalism. Media organisations of all kinds aim for some form of cross-media cooperation or synergy between reporters, newsrooms and departments that have previously been separated. This raises a number of important questions about the relationship between organisational strategies, new technologies, and everyday news journalism.
