Two basic analytic functions [alpha](z) and [beta](z) defined in domains depending on the location of the zeros of a complex polynomial P(z) are given by P'/P = n/(z - [alpha]) and P = (z - [beta])n. These functions are studied with respect to their growth and their Laurent expansion coefficients. Applications to the location of zeros of complex polynomials are indicated.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/23284/1/0000221.pd
