The heat capacity of crystalline Th(NO3)4[middle dot]5H2O has been determined by adiabatic calorimetry primarily to enable evaluation of the standard partial molar entropy and heat capacity of aqueous thorium(IV) ion. No thermal anomalies were detected, and at 298.15 K Cp(T), So(T), and -{Go(T) - Ho(0)}/T are 114.9 +/- 0.1, 129.8 +/- 0.1, and 63.87 +/- 0.06 calth K-1 mol-1, respectively.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/21859/1/0000263.pd
