The present Volume 12 of the Nordic Research in Music Education Yearbook includes 11 articles and a research note reflecting the broad variety of interests in current research of music education in the Nordic countries. The themes of the articles include musical citizenship, epistemological perspectives on music education research and practice, health outcomes of music teaching, music in school classes and in students own culture, musical teaching and learning from a master and apprenticeship perspective, and finally a historical and institutional perspective
