Advancing Vermont's creative economy

The Vermont Council on Culture and Innovation envisions a future in which two principles are widely understood. First, that our cultural expressions and heritage are central to the fabric of the Vermont community. Second, that they act as a powerful economic engine that inspires innovation, creates jobs, and produces revenue throughout the state. This report makes specific recommendations for how to grow the State\u27s creative economy.The Vermont Council on Culture and Innovation envisions a future in which two principles are widely understood. Second, that they act as a powerful economic engine that inspires innovation, creates jobs, and produces revenue throughout the state. This report makes specific recommendations for how to grow the State\u27s creative economy as a vital and complementary part of the state\u27s economy as a whole. These recommendations encourage collaboration among Vermont\u27s private sector, cultural organizations, and local, state, and federal government to use Vermont?s cultural resources to spark and leverage community and economic development. It documents seventeen recommendations in the four areas listed below that the Governor\u27s administration, legislature, and public and private partners are encouraged to undertake to expand innovation, enhance community life, attract and encourage entrepreneurs, build Vermont\u27s market identity, and stimulate job growth
