This publication updates and builds on the 2004 edition to provide a comprehensive overview of Australia’s domestic and international counter-terrorism strategy, policy and arrangements. It explains the steps the Australian government has taken to protect Australians and Australian interests against the threat of terrorism, and outlines the government\u27s partnership with state, territory and local governments and the private sector in developing the nation-wide counter-terrorism capability. This publication was removed from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet\u27s website after the election of the Rudd Labor Goverment. The publication was saved by the Australian Islamist Monitor however so links to it now go via that site
