Digital radio\u27s delayed introduction could mean the future has been created by other audio media, writes JOCK GIVEN • LESS than a year before digital radio services are due to launch in Australia, one of the UK’s biggest commercial radio operators, GCAP, is quitting the medium. In its view, Digital Audio Broadcasting [DAB] ‘is not an economically viable platform for the Company’. It’s not great news for those Australian Santa’s who were looking forward to spending December at Harvey Norman, buying up fancy new radios for their loved ones.
