D-I-Y home renovations have led to higher asbestos exposure and a subsequent rise in malignant mesothelioma. Researchers from the University of Western Australia have found a steady rise in the number of cases of malignant mesothelioma since the mid 1980s in people who\u27ve renovated their own homes. They\u27ve even found an increase in cases of this deadly disease amongst family members who were in the vicinity of the renovations. Most of the incidents have been linked to asbestos exposure during the 1960s and 70s. &nbsp
