Drawing upon examples from a range of contexts and disciplines, this interactive workshop will allow participants to explore the role of assessment, and assessment design, in supporting learner transitions to, within, and beyond higher education programmes. The workshop will begin by outlining the need for assessment strategies that recognise the importance of programme-level cohesion, the impact of learner perceptions and prior learning on approaches to learning and use of feedback, and the value of authentic task design
