The local 2223 phase evolution was studied by XRD analysis in alloy and Ag sheathed tapes. It has been previously shown that Ag-sheathed tapes generally have a maximum amount of 2223 phase at the core-sheath interface and a minimum at the centre of the core[1]. In this paper, we show that the combination of an alloy sheath and the addition of Ag 15%wt in the EDS (Evaporative Decomposition of Solution) precursor powder results in a homogeneous distribution of the 2223 phase in the core
