La medicina en la época de la emancipación

This natural and scientific currents coming illustration, prepares the creation of the School of Medicine.A fines del siglo XVIII en nuestro medio, se nota ya una preocupación por el estudio técnico de la medicina. Por el año de 1792, se funda por Unanue el Anfiteatro Anatómico de San Andrés, templo donde se iba a enseñar la morfología, la ciencia de Luzzi y de Vesalio. Al año siguiente, Unanue inicia un ciclo de Conferencias clínicas, en las que tomaron parte Valdés, Villalobos, Cosme Bueno, Vergara y Puente. Por primera vez, siguiendo las corrientes pedagógicas de las Escuelas leydediana y vienesa, se pone en juego este intento académico, como una forma de interesar a la juventud por los estudios hipocráticos. Todo ello y las corrientes científico-naturales que vienen de la ilustración, prepara la creación de la Escuela de Medicina
