Correlations of proton-proton and pion-pion pairs emitted in Al+Al and Ni+Ni collisions ata beam energy of 1.9A GeV were investigated with the FOPI spectrometer at GSI Darmstadt. Thestructure of the correlation function for an expanding system addresses the dimensions of the regionof homogeneity, the size and shape of the phase space cloud of the outgoing particles whosevelocities have a specific magnitude and direction.
