An individual who has an exceptionality has a mental or physical impairment that hinders one or more daily activities. Although some research has been done in this area, the impacts that exceptionalities can have on families is complex and unique for each family. Exceptionalities not only impact the individual who has the impairment but also impacts their family members daily.
