In pursuance of new metal compounds with unique physical properties, cyclam, a macrocylic polyamine formed bonds with different chemical compounds at four nitrogen positions. Resultantly, two new macrocyclic ligands, CyclamP and CyclamF, were successfully synthesized and fully characterized by X-ray Crystallography, NMR Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry. In addition, CyclamP further reacted with Lanthanide, captured and stabilized two metal ions. Each lanthanide ion was stabilized by the oxygen atoms from the phosphoryl side arms, displaying a butterflyshaped dimetallic complex.
