“This issue of the Center's research publication, newly named The Archive, presents a portfolio of recently acquired color works by photographers who use color from a variety of sources without intimidation by either the current state of commercially produced color photography materials or by any existing precepts about reality. It has taken a long time for photographers to be fully convinced that realism represents only one aesthetic potential among many for photography.
